We have recently teamed up with the University of Kent to offer two students the chance to add an EMIR project placement to their CVs.

This has been made possible due to the University’s Employability Points Scheme (EPS) that “rewards students for active engagement in extracurricular activities during their time at the University of Kent”.

The first EMIR project placement consists of creating and editing a short promotional video. For the successful candidate, this will involve meeting with us to discuss the aims for the video and the timescale that it will need to be completed by. The candidate will then need to provide a brief, including a storyboard, to give us an idea of what the end result will look like.

Here is one of the promotional videos Jem Collins produced during her project placement:

The second project placement with EMIR involves conducting research into the company, resulting in a 15 page report of recommendations to the directors that highlights how we can move forward for the future. This is a great opportunity for those looking to strengthen their research and writing skills. More information will be given to the successful candidate regarding the subject of the project.

We have previously taken on two students for EPS work placements which resulted in two high quality promotional videos as well as recommendations for our various social media accounts.

In the previous academic year, over 3,700 students got involved in the scheme and we are excited to be involved with EPS for the second year running.

If you are interested in getting involved, we are looking for students who have enthusiasm for their project placement, can keep to tight deadlines and have overall great time management skills.
