Follow up from previous blog post: Central Saint Martins student, Evie Armstrong-Clarke recently received the Jewellers bench EMIR made for her after Evie won a competition to debut her exclusive range in Topshop’s top 20 stores worldwide and online. Evie worked with us on the design elements of the bench to ensure it met her needs perfectly and could work in comfort.
After being manufactured at our factory in Ashford, the bench was sent round to Evie who is based in London and she couldn’t be happier:
“It’s like Christmas again.. x 3! It’s been very surreal to see the bench in my flat in London- it arrived in uncanny timing with a near project deadline so it had a busy start to its life! I couldn’t be more thankful to the team at EMIR. It hasn’t quite sunk in yet how beneficial this will be to my future as a designer; quite often people cannot afford studio space / bench rent in London, especially after university, which could greatly slow down work. So it has opened up many options and is already allowing design and making to flow with ease.
I really appreciate all the time, care and work gone into designing, making and delivering this. The quality is beautiful, and the design details we discussed are perfect for how I work. Thank you Thank you Thank you EMIR!”
Evie is a BA Jewellery Design student at Central Saint Martins in London. Living in the city centre of London has been her biggest inspiration with its constantly changing skyline. The modern architecture rising through the traditional stone buildings led her to design the winning piece in the Topshop competition, sold in the store’s Autumn-Winter 2014 collection.
