EMIR workbenches are made to order to your specifications and to the highest quality, ensuring you receive a bench that is durable and perfectly suited to your needs.
We’ve successfully made and supplied benches for education, museums, designers, the science and technology sector, individuals and more since 1932. In fact, EMIR workbenches can be found still going strong after multiple decades of use in the most demanding of environments, such as schools and industry.
Our skilled team hand construct and finish every piece here in Britain, using prime grade beech wood that’s steamed and kiln dried and certified by the FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) and PEFC (Programme for the Endorsement of Forest). The timber we use is close grained, splinter resistant and hardwearing.
Our benches are constructed using draw bolted mortise and tenon joints, giving the strength to withstand racking forces. They can even be used as a vibration-absorbing base for bench mounted machines and instruments. Various top types are available and underframe configuration can be adapted to maximise strength, access for seated work and storage space. Drawers, cupboards and shelves can be fitted, as can wood and metalwork vices. If you require something not mentioned here we can usually do that too – just ask!
